Barbara Klein graduated from the University of Illinois with a BA in Philosophy and minor in Rhetoric in 1974. She then attended IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law where she received her J.D. in 1978, and her license to practice law in Illinois.
In June, 1978 Barbara worked for the Better Government Association where she was responsible for conceiving, researching and developng investigative reports on government waste and inefficiency in conjunction with major local and national media, including ABC-News "20/20", CBS-News "60 Minutes," the Washington Post and Chicago Sun-Times.
In 1980, Barbara became an Investigative Reporter/Researcher with ABC. As a member of the "Target-7" investigative team and "Seven on Your Side" consumer reporting team, Barbara was responsible for conceiving, researching, developing and writing investigative and consumer series for the 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. News.
Barbara became interested in representing Plantiffs in medical malpractice cases when she worked with Barry Goldberg from 1983 to 1996, when she then opened her own law firm.
